At the beginning of March, a great occasion comes to mind compared to the many occasions of this month, which is Mother’s Day. When we talk about Mother’s Day, we cannot help but think of the material things we can reward our mothers with and return a very small part of the favor of what they have done for us over the years. The majority begin searching for Mother’s Day gifts, ideas for celebrating Mother’s Day, and unique surprises from handmade gifts or personalizing some gifts to make their mothers feel special on their day. In the chaos of searching for these gifts on one hand and trying to secure the financial cost for them on the other hand, we forget the most important part of this occasion, which is the moral, spiritual, and emotional aspect that is the essence of a mother and what describes her. I am not talking about everyone, of course, but many people have started to take this path, and I am not saying that we should not buy gifts for Mother’s Day. However, what I want to clarify is that we should not make the material aspect our biggest concern. A mother, who gives of her spirit, heart, identity, and self to each of her children, needs not only material things but also wants a part of what she has given.

Let’s give our mothers the full importance, sufficient time, attentive ear, and endless gratitude for their presence in our lives on this day. And let’s not forget here to understand motherhood from Dr. Nada’s perspective on motherhood, as she says that not everyone who gives birth is a mother. Every woman among us is a mother because she carries within her soul these sacred emotions. So, if you have not married yet, or if you are married and have not had children, or if you are raising your husband’s children, or playing with your siblings’ children, etc., you are a mother because you are capable of being all the beautiful things in this moment and in the “here and now.”

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, women, and girls!
